This Lucky Word Frame is perfect for your entryway! When it comes to St. Patty’s Day art, I sort of stay away. I’ve never been one to hang a leprechaun wreath on my door. I decorate for every other holiday, but have never been into the Kissin’ o’ the Irish. Even though I’m part Irish! {eek!}
But, I decided to get a little festive, and make a word art frame – inspired by this XOXO frame Jen made at TaterTots and Jello for VDay.
I created a sheet of green polka dotty paper and typed the word Lucky on it. The word is really transparent so I was just able to see the outline of the word. I printed it on a thicker cardstock, and YOU can download the free printable here if you’d like to make this yourself!
I grabbed a frame I already had and put the cardstock into the frame on top of the glass. Then, I used Modge Podge decoupage glue and a medium paintbrush to paint in the letters. I sprinkled mini beads onto the area I painted, and let it dry! {enter visions of a bad glittery Christmas Tree art project from grade school!} I didn’t need to add the yellow sheer ribbon, but thought it added a nice touch!
The best part about this, is that I can remove the card when the leprechauns have all gone away for the year, and I can use it for another project, or it can go back to its job as a photo frame!
This MAY possibly be the only green in my home this season, but who knows what else will inspire me to go green! Happy Crafting!
