DIY Car Air Fresheners

diy air fresheners

I have always enjoyed having the smells of an air freshener in my car, but can’t stand the little trees.  I’ve gone back and forth on the little gels you buy that go in a really cute clip for your car – but they’re so darn expensive and honestly, they last like a week.

Playing around with my Young Living Essential Oils has gotten me to get creative with ways to use scents.  I’ve never really thought about it, but so many things in my life have smells.  I do the scented wax, the room sprays, the fabric refresher and car air fresheners.  So, why not make my own?  Then, I’m able to make something cute that also smells good.  It’s a win-win!

To make your own car air fresheners, you’ll need:

felt

20-25 drops essential oils

ribbon

Cut your felt into your favorite shape.  If you’d like to make a Mickey or Minnie head, I’ve included a printable cutout that you can either trace around or hold on your felt and cut around.

Add a small slit at the top of the felt and push through a piece of ribbon for hanging.  Add 15 drops of your favorite essential oil to the front and 10-15 drops to the back, spreading the drops around.  Use your finger to spread the oils out.  Hang in your car and refresh by adding more drops every few weeks.
