When it comes to summer, I think of lemonade and ice cream – two of my favorite things!
This summer, I made my very own version of Strawberry Lemon Sorbet, and let tell you, the batch didn’t even last a week in this house.
It was gone FAST! It’s a good thing it’s super easy to make {easier WITH an ice cream maker, but still something you can make without a gadget!}
Pink Lemonade Sorbet
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 1/4 cup strawberry lemonade {I made it with Crystal Light liquid water enhancer}
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 1/2 TB lemon zest
Instructions
Combine sugar and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer until the sugar dissolves {about 3-5 minutes}
Cool completely.
Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
When cool, add the lemon juice and zest to the sugar water and stir to combine.
Turn the ice cream machine on and pour the mixture into the freezer bowl.
The mixture takes about 25-30 minutes to thicken.
If you are making your sorbet by hand, here’s a great tutorial on Making Sorbet Without An Ice Cream Maker. It’s easier than you’d think {says the girl with the ice cream maker!}
I love this recipe, and it’s certainly a keeper. Everyone loves it and I’m sure you will too!
