DIY Paper Towel Holder

SUCH a great idea! DIY paper towel holder that is pretty enough to display by Designer Trapped in a Lawyer's Body for Reasons to Skip the Housework!Hello RTSTH readers!  For those of you that don’t know me already, I am Tasha from Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body where I blog about DIY renovations, crafts, organization, cleaning and other household tips. I am so happy to be back again to share another project with you.  And it is a QUICK and EASY one.  Perfect for all you busy, hard working people out there 🙂  I am here to show you how to make a DIY paper towel holder that you can proudly leave out on display so that your paper towels are always at your fingertips.

Today’s project is for anyone with kids {or messy eaters} that would like to have paper towels on hand for every meal.  Our twin girls are still perfecting drinking from big girl cups.  There are plenty of tipped over cups and little spills at our table, so we really need to have paper towels on hand.  We had been jumping up to retrieve paper towels from our counter top where they are usually stored because I don’t want to have an ugly roll of paper towels sitting on our table all the time.  But, now I have come up with a way to store paper towels on our table in a pretty way.  YAY!

 Materials Needed to Make a DIY Paper Towel Holder:

  • A vase large enough to fit a roll of paper towels
  • Spray paint {if necessary}

Steps to Make a DIY Paper Towel Holder:

I found this beautiful vase at HomeGoods months ago.  I loved the size and shape, but yellow was not the color that I wanted.  I decided to snap it up anyway because I knew spray paint could fix that!  So, for me, spray painting the vase was the first step.  I found a color that would work perfectly in our kitchen and got to work.  It was quick and easy.

After your paint dries, pop your paper towels in the vase and set it on your table.  That’s it!  How easy is that?  Now you are ready for any spills or other disasters that may occur at your table AND your have a pretty centerpiece to show off.  Two birds, one stone!

I love the pop of color this adds to our eat-in-kitchen area, which we recently completed as part of renovating our entire kitchen for less than $700!  It includes that gorgeous herringbone plank wall that you can see behind our kitchen table.  Oh, and you can learn all about how to paint your kitchen cabinets WITHOUT LOSING YOUR MIND.

Are you going to go hunt for the perfect vase so that you can make one of these for yourself?  If you do, I would love for you to let me know how yours turns out–connect with me any time on social media.  You can find me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Google Plus and Twitter. Thanks so much for having me at RTSTH today!

  1. I love this idea! My paper towels are stashed away in the pantry cuz I don’t really like having clutter on the counter but I think this would add a nice pop of color. I love that vase too! Thank you for sharing!!
