Oven-Baked Cheeseburger Sliders: Easy Step-by-Step Recipe

My husband and I are celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary today, and although we are going to a fancy movie and dinner tonight, I wanted to make him his favorite meal at home for dinner as an added special treat. He loves hamburgers – the problem is, we live in Phoenix, and grilling outside in 111-degree weather is the LAST thing anyone wants to do after a long day of work! I solved that problem by making cheeseburger sliders in the OVEN! Crazy, I know…I doubted the recipe too…but it was the perfect meal for my All-American Date Night! Check out these oven-baked cheeseburger sliders.

How to Make Oven-Baked Cheeseburger Sliders

To make the oven-baked sliders there are really only a few steps:

  • Mix 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup of onions, and 1 lb. hamburger {double for more than 3 people}.
  • Press the mixture into a 9X12 oven pan and poke fork holes in the mixture.

  • Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Once done, drain off the grease {I even patted the top with a paper towel} and lay your cheese slices on the top of the meat.
  • Put back into the oven for just a few minutes to let the cheese melt.
Cut the burgers to the size of your buns {I used King’s Hawaiian rolls}, and you’re done!

  1. Thank you for this simple recipe! My Mondays are supposed to be my rest days, but I usually forget to prepare something for dinner the night before or put something in the crockpot until it is too late. I already had some ground beef thawing in the refrigerator, and I did a quick pinterest search for an easy ground beef recipe. Cooking the hamburger in the oven was genius! I don’t think I had a whole pound of meat, so mine ended up being well-done by 20 or 25 minutes, but it was still very edible. Me, my husband, and my 3 boys (5 years and younger) finished the pan. No leftovers to put away!

  2. this looks amazing. I was looking for oven pan recipes.
I found another one before / however / it is not so complete as yours.
It does not say to poke holes with a fork.
In the other one I also put green peppers and tomatoes and salt and pepper and Cheyenne into this mix.
I think yours will be better due to the fork holes. the timing was the same (ish).
I love this recipe I cannot wait until later when I make it!!
Phoenix has a nice night club there!
    Sincerely,
    David

  3. Tried this last night and what a brilliant success. I tend to really like the onions to stand out so I used 1/4 of a cup more plus a lot more pepper. Enjoyed this with a boat load of jalepenos at the end and had a really nice spicy burger. Brilliant. I love simple and tasty recipes! Thanks!

  4. We are trying to eat somewhat healthier but really wanted burgers. I used your recipe as a place to start. I used ground turkey, onions, & sun dried tomatoes along with some garlic powder & paprika. Cooked and topped with cheese, let cool a little and used butter lettuce as buns. It worked out GREAT! Except hubby moaned about having no bread😂😂

    1. Hi, Cherie McAdams-West! Cool! I guess that’s delicious and I might probably try that also. Let me hear what my husband would tell me hahaha! Eating delicious food will make us healthier hahah!
