We’ve all had those days as moms, where we want to lock ourselves in the bathroom and hide from our kids.  I only have ONE child and feel that way, so those of you with more than one.. I don’t know how you do it!  But then, there are those moments that calm you, that bring cheers into your life and smiles onto your face.

This morning was one of those moments for me, and I just had to share the sweetness of my sweet angel with you.  It’s too good not to share!

My grandma Evy passed away yesterday, and although it’s terribly sad, we knew it was coming, so it certainly wasn’t shocking.

She’s had dementia for 5 years so it’s been a rough road.  But, we’re ok!!

I got my daughter a little dollar store “bell” to use in her advent calendar this morning in honor of my grandma.

I told my Sami girl that when the bell rings it means that an angel just got its wings and is smiling.

She then started ringing away on that bell. Swinging it back and forth with force.

I reminded her to be careful and not ring it too much, or she might break it.

She said, “Mommy, I just want to make sure your Grandma keeps smiling.”

And then, I cried…..

and my heart melted….

I love you Sami girl.

I love you Grandma – keep smiling!

  1. That is the sweetest ever! I almost cried myself. I have had those moments to lock on the bathroom and cry but also I have had those moments that we wish we could freeze to enjoy it longer. Recently I was sick and I was really feeling awful, spending long hours sleeping and since my mom is busy and dad works I just take Emma with me play some cartoons on the iPad and sleep while she watches it. She is 2 years old and is a very active girl, she can’t be quite for more than 2 minutes and yet there she was next to me in silence letting me sleep and every time I opened my eyes to check on her she would cuddle me, kiss me and just be there with me. I just couldn’t believe it. Girl that love is the purest and deepest and I’m so lucky to have her!. I’m sure you feel the same!

Sorry about your grandma and congrats for the cutest girl you have!
